My Bio

Don't worry... this will be brief.

If you don't know me, my name is Robert Hilliard and I have lived in and around the Tyler, Texas area for over 40 years. I'm a native Texan and proud of it.

I attended high school at John Tyler HS and attended Tyler Junior College as well as The University of Texas at Tyler where I hold a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Industrial Technology.

My wife, Kathy and I have been married for almost 30 years. We have three children and five grandchildren.

I've worked in the Information Technology field for over 25 years. I currently work as a Webmaster/Web Technologist/Digital Technology Specialist for Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals & Clinics in Tyler, Texas. I've worked for TMF for over 15 years in various Information Technology positions including Senior Programmer Analyst, Operations Manager and Lead Financial Systems Analyst. I've also worked with The University of Texas Health Center at Tyler where I was employed as a Programmer Analyst for almost 7 years.

Also, for the last 15 years, I've personally designed and maintained numerous websites for a number of clients on the web . Before getting into Information Technology, I worked in the television broadcasting industry. My hobbies include woodworking, computers and motorcycling.

My biggest "claim to fame" (other than being on TV in News, Weather and Sports), is that I was very interested and active in the Year 2000 Remediation from 1996 through 2000. I had a well-known Year 2000 website full of information on how to test your PC and fix it if it wasn't Year 2000 compliant. Feel free to view the page here from my archives. Hits grew exponentially for that page as well as others in that website. Nationally, I was considered one of the top ten most knowledgeable Consultants in Year 2000 Remediation according to a Year 2000 poll conducted in San Diego.

In March of 1996, I started this website with the hope of bringing some different perspectives to the world wide web. Over the years, the look and feel has changed but the intent with the content hasn't. I hope you enjoy my corner of the web.
